Classroom structure and curriculum take into account the child's developmental stage. Children are in a self-contained classroom with a teacher and an assistant teacher. The classroom is the center of all learning activities, with reading and writing, math, science, social studies and creative arts integrated into the daily schedule of play and work. Although they leave the room for outdoor and large muscle room time, the classroom provides the emotional security of a small, stable community and familiar environment.
6:30 AM to 8:00 AM- Arrival and free play
Free play provides opportunities for exploration, experimentation, and manipulation that are essential for conducting knowledge, and contributes to the development of representational thought. During play, children examine and refine their learning in light of the feedback they receive from the environment and other people. It is through play that children develop their imaginations and creativity.
8:00 AM to 9:00 AM - Breakfast
9:00 AM to 9:30 AM - Circle Time
Circle time consists of children sitting together on the floor and getting together formally to start the day. Circle time, which is teacher-led, promotes good listening skills, longer concentration spans, and helps cultivate the ability to take turns.
Activities during circle time often include:
Going over the days of the week and the months of the year
Reviewing the daily schedule
Singing songs and reading stories
Assigning responsibilities for the week
9:30 AM to 11:00 AM - Outside play, potty time, large muscle room, or special classes.
11:00 AM to 12:00 PM - Lunch
12:00 PM to 2:00 PM - Rest time
2:00 PM to 2:30 PM - Snack time
2:30 PM to 5:00 PM - Teacher-directed activities such as:
Art Projects:
Our teachers encourage the children to use a wide variety of sensory materials. Using their eyes, hands and imagination, children learn to express and communicate their feelings in expressive forms.
Cooking Projects:
Cooking helps encourage creativity, turn-taking and even basic math skills such as measuring and counting. Children have fun learning with these hands-on activities and can even eat the results!
5:00 PM to 5:30 PM - Songs and stories
5:30 PM - Closed
Circle Of Friends Early Learning Center offers programs for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. We accommodate full-time and part-time schedules as well as other flexible options. Circle of Friends also partners with the Chippewa Falls school district in providing a BB4C Program 4 days at week.
In addition to providing quality child care, we take pride in the fact that our parents are just as important to us as our children. At various times we will be offering other services such as: dance & music classes, martial arts, Spanish and sign language classes.
